2021 Series 01
Greg Tamer - May 01, 2022 11:59PM

TRHL Owners,
Series 00 has been completed. League file attached. With new schedule!
Rules to remember:
1. No DH in NL this season. NL will have DH in 2021 replay.
2. Three-batter minimum rule (or end of inning) for RP.
3. Four teams from each league advance to post-season.
4. 26-man active rosters.
5. Yes to no-pitch IBB.
6. Using replacement-level system in September.
7. 10-day IL.
Long-Term Contract Signings:
1. Whitecaps - Ronald Acuna
2. Rogers - Mike Trout
3. NRIs - Alex Manoah
4. Canons - Willy Adames
5. Pale Hose - Luis Robert
6. Evil Empire - Max Scherzer
7. BDM - Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor
8. Terriers - Bo Bichette
I've added these to the contracts page on the website. BDM cannot sign next season any player to a LTC since signed two this year.
WARNING - First half visiting teams have until Thursday night, 10 PM EDT to post MPs and instructions. Failure to do so will result in a harsh e-mail from me asking you why the TRHL isn't your #1 priority in life. Then I'll let the stupid, imbecilic, moronic DMB computer manager generate an MP for you.
Results not submitted: N/A
(*) - Backup results submitted
(**) - Notified in advance
Automatic farmings due to overuse: None!
Transactions:
1. Clowns sign Cody Poteet, release Owen Miller.
2. Rogers sign James Paxton and Matt Moore.
3. Chinook sign Joe Jimenez, and Amir Garrett, release Tony Santillan and Kevin Smith.
4. BDM sign Scott Effross and Evan Phillips, $2, release Matt Carpenter.
5. French Terriers sign Jason Vosler, Mickey Moniak, John Brebbia, Lewis Brinson, Jason Adam, Rafael Montero*, Jake Marisnick, Juan Lagares, Joe Smith, Anthony Banda.
* - Chinook also submitted a claim for Montero but had a better record than French Terriers in 2020.
Injuries (> 3 days):
None
MPs ready for Series 01: None!
Again, rules of game play:
1. Do not play a series as the home team without first receiving a season start MP from the visiting team owner. Check the message board especially for posted MPs. After Series 01, please e-mail visiting owner if MP not listed as ready. The key is communication. Talk to your opponent!
2. Always check the opposing team's rotation; pitchers should not start tired unless stated otherwise by manager.
3. Honor system here; do not restart games once they've started unless there is an obvious mistake discovered immediately upon starting (e.g., see #2 above, you accidentally let a tired pitcher start for opposing team)
4. You must have 25 or 26 active players at all time. No more. No fewer than 25.
Reminder - we are sticking to home-and-away six-game series each week against the same opponent.
Deadlines - 1st half deadline for first three games is Sunday, May 8th, 10 PM EDT. 2nd half deadline is Sunday, May 15th, 10 PM EDT.
Series 01 league file has been posted and the League File link on the website has been updated.
Here's the link:

If you have any questions, e-mail me!
Thanks for playing.

Here is the Whitecaps' MP/roster for series 1. We open at home, but I figured Billy might want to see what our roster is before he submits his first MP.

Siskiyou Rotisserie start off in style, shutting out the Huxley Wagstaffs in all three games. Rotisserie wins 8-0, 8-0, and 5-0. Bogaerts with three home runs. Plan was to ride Gausman, Giolito, and Buehler to victory, and so far so good.

I thought I'd posted this already. With state testing for my students this week and next (just shoot me now), my brain's been a bit scrambled. Three more weeks and I get to send all of the kiddos onto the next grade. Woohoo!
Havana will score runs this year. That's not in question. We'll be much improved. The question is, can we prevent them? We shall see.

If we manage to have zero additional delays from the end of period 1, playing one series every single week, we will finish the regular season on November 13. We then will have only six weeks until Christmas Day. I would suggest we need, to get next year started on time, to set a strict limit of two weeks per playoff round and use all efforts to avoid any in-season delays to our schedule.

I'll second the spirit of Craig's suggestion, though it'd be nice to allow a bit more time for playoffs. I haven't done the math, but should be able to be more generous while still getting results in a fairly reasonable amount of time.
Why did we start so late this year? Was the labor situation a factor?

Ucity takes 2 of 3 at home. Game 4 - Late homers by Avila and Bellinger lead Rocket to a 4-1 win. Game 5 - Brian "Babe Ruth" Goodwin (6-10, 4 HR, 1 2B, 2 BB in the series) accounts for all the Anunnaki runs with 2 homers and the home team prevails 3-2. Game 6 - UCity gets homers from Bryant, Reynolds, and of course Goodwin and wins 7-4. No injuries.

Game 1: Things look good for the McCallions going in to the top of the 9th, as they carry a 2-1 lead with Loaisiga taking the mound, and they look even better after he gets two quick outs. And then disaster strikes, as he loses his control, walking three of the next four, with the other guy hitting a single. And then Bender, who gets hauled in to reliever him, does no better, allowing a double and single before getting the final out, leaving the McCallions down 6-2. But the McCallions are determined, as 8 straight batters reach base, with the final blow being a walkoff single from Ty France, with the McCallions escaping with an undeserved 7-6 win.
Game 2: The Heroes take a 4-1 lead into the 9th, and the McCallions get close while plating 2, but Pomeranz is able to induce a double play ball from Adrianza, allowing them to claim a 4-3 win.
Game 3: Starlin Castro is the difference maker in this one, driving home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. McCallions win 3-2.
This feels like it's going to be an unnecessarily stressful season.

Havana drops the middle game to Indianapolis, sits at 5-1. I don't remember the last time we started off a season this good. Maybe never. It might acttually be a good season in Stogieville. There is hope.
