Game 1: A pitchers duel that ends with a 2-1 win for the Terriers
Game 2: The McCallions have a big lead late, but a combined defensive and bullpen implosion means the game ends with a 10-9 victory for the Terriers
Game 3: The McCallions win 3-1, but lose Pablo Lopez for 19 days when he gets injured in a brawl sparked by Keller plunking Rendon.
MP is ready. Please use the computer manager to select both starting pitchers and lineups.

The teams split the first two, each going 11 innings, then BDM crushes often in the rubber game. No injuries to anyone who matters. Sorry, Andrew Velazquez.

JiminMaine - August 16, 2021 08:21AM

Brockton takes the opening game 3-2 in Maine behind Castillo (11-6) as Joyce homered deep to left scoring Pinder in the top of the 5th followed by a Castro deep shot in the top of the 6th. Maine scored 6 in the bottom of the 7th and 1 each in the bottom of the 8th and 9th to pull off an 8-7 victory. In the finale Keuchel (14-3) continued his impressive season and the Hose prevailed 4-1 [Ruiz was injured for this game and 3 more days] taking 5 of 6 in the total series.
Pale Hose MP set for series 18 vs Portland NRI. Bruce may play all 6 games as I will be away from my desktop part of the week.

Sisskiyou Rotisserie - August 16, 2021 11:40PM
|
|
|
Once again late results for Siskiyou, this time really late, but with permission from Chinook, results attached.
Though we do get swept, so there is that. Good series though. Not so much game one, but game three was especially wild.
Game One: Thunder Bay 9-1. Buehler fell behind in the first, but managed to hold it together well enough to just be behind 2-0 going into the 5th. Sadly left the fifth down 5. Rotisserie did get our lone run in the bottom of the inning, but Chinook added four more for the lopsided win. Nola gave up four hits in six innings and Zimmer allowed only a walk while finishing it out.
Game Two: Thunder Bay 3-0. Bauer had himself a game. Went 7, giving up one hit, one walk, no runs, and 15 strikeouts. Gausman was alright, but ya can't beat that.
Game Three: Thunder Bay 2-1. This game... I'm not going to be able to do it justice because so many crazy things happen. There was a critical strikeout late where the batter got hit with the pitch. A barely HBP from Locastro soon followed. We threw Locastro out. Bogearts twice barely missed home runs that would have won us the game. Bud Norris went 6, and gave up one run on nine hits. Meanwhile Sonny Gray went 5 2/3 and gave up one run on two hits (5 BB though...). Cabrera shut down the side in the 7th for Thunder Bay, taking 9 pitches to get three infield groundouts. And lastly, in the top of the tenth inning when I brought in Wendelken with no one else available, after getting the first two outs I literally out-loud said "this is the kind of situation where it might be better to just lose quickly so I don't destroy Wendelken." Mondesi walks, steals second, and Rios lines a double to bring him in. I'm definitely forgetting lots of crazy things too. Oh yeah, Rotisserie run was scored on a wild pitch, the third in a row from Gray after walking Heyward.
MP ready to ride (of course).

Rotisserie get two from Chinook
pdolwick - August 17, 2021 09:23PM
|
|
|
G1: Joey Votto gives everyone a preview of what he's going to do in 2021 and blasts two HRs. Mella K's Mondesi w/ the tying run on 2nd in the bottom of the 9th to get the save. SIS 5-4.
G2: Another 1-run game. Eddie Rosario HRs and doubles in the first 3 frames to drive in 5 and helps stake the Rotisserie to a 5-2 lead. Chinook rally on a TRH from Biggio and Zimmer closes it out. TBC 6-5.
G3: Yet another 1-run game. Siskiyou doesn't have the same problems w/ Bauer and both Heyward and Votto tag him w/ 2 run HRs. Again, the Chinook rally but can't get the key hit late w/ Archie Bradley striking out the usually clutch Yasmani Grandal w/ the bases loaded in the 8th. SIS 4-3.
Fun games.
