McCallions at Anunnaki w18
Michael cradock - July 16, 2020 10:19PM

Anunnaki get all three. Game 1 - UCity puts a bunch of hits together in the 3rd to score five runs and Zeuch shuts down the Hazel bats and Anunnaki cruise 6-1. Game 2 - Joey Lucchesi pitches well for once and Seth Meijas-Brean (no, I don't think he is a real player either, but hey) hits two homers and drives in 4 as UCity wins 7-2. Game 3 - Alonso ties the game in the 5th with a HR, then Jeff McNeil hits a go-ahead 3 run jack in the sixth, and Anunnaki survive a furious MCCallion rally in the 9th to prevail 8-7. No injuries. UCA MP ready for back half of series. Good luck.

Thanks to Bruce for calling me to clarify how to upload and play his desired lineups ...
In a match up between two 1st teams with identical 62-40 records entering the series, the Hose take the first two before losing in the finale.
In the opener with the score tied at 8-8 entering the bottom of the 8th, Tauchman grounded a single up the middle scoring Pham. Scumbag Vazquez allowed a runner but not a run to notch his 18th Save as the Hose won 9-8.
In game 2 the Hose outhit the NRI 12-6 and outscored the NRI 6-3 behind Lopez (11-3). [Tauchman was injured for this game and 17 more days.]
Refusing to lay down Morton (12-5) and the NRI pound the Hose and Keuchel (5-9) 7-5 in a game that wasn't as close as the final score looks since the NRI were up up 7-1 before the Hose scored 4 in the bottom of the 8th.

After winning the opener despite getting only three hits, Crescent Beach scored one of its most thrilling victories of the season. The Breakers scraped back from a 5-0 deficit in the sixth, with Jose Altuve hitting a pinch homer in the eighth to tie the game, then fell behind in the tenth only to win on Oscar Mercado's two-out two-run double. Higglytown dominated the third game to prevent a sweep.

Sisskiyou Rotisserie - July 18, 2020 12:39PM
|
|
|
Rotisserie gets two of three.
Game One was a pitching duel. Nola and Buehler each pitch six, giving up one run. In the 7th and 8th each bullpen gives up one run, for a 2-2 tie. With the Rotisserie bullpen pretty exhausted, extras didn't look good for us. Fortunately with the help of a few desperate pinch hitters, a HBP, and a few singles, we score in the 10th to win it 3-2.
Game Two was a real pitcher's duel. Gerrit Cole gets the CGSO, and Buehler gives up one over eight. Slight snafu on my part, as thinking I was the one up by one in the ninth I brought in Hechevarria to play short over Bogearts, and then Hechy leads off the bottom of the inning. Odds are we lose anyway, but shouldn't have robbed Bogearts of the chance to tie it up. Ah well. Great game. Love the 1-0s.
Game Three was a Rotisserie blowout. We scored 5 by the end of the 3rd, and Norris pitched well, giving up just two. 10-2 final, as we get to use our scrub relievers in a safe spot, so of course they don't allow any runs.
MP ready to go for the Clowns.

Results of Maine @ Portland
bbackup - July 19, 2020 06:14PM

Leading 4-2 with the bases loaded and no outs in the 5th, I debated taking Max Fried out with a bunch of lefty mashers coming up. At the end of the inning it was 16-5 and I thought why not one more inning, don't want the bullpen tired. Fried left with the score 18-5 after throwing 169 pitches. Portland promptly scored 11 runs but fell short with the final Maine 20, Portland 16.
Portland won game two 8-2 but it was a Pyrrhic victory as Lowe was hurt for 23 days (it will be 69 days on the DL for him so far when he returns) and his replacement, Encarnacion was hurt for 22 days.
In the finale, Portland blew a 5-2 lead and lost 6-5 in extra innings.
Not a great series for the NRIs.

BTW my results (posted just above) are late - they were supposed to be in on Friday. That said, I don't see that Temple City played their games. If I'm incorrect about that and my results are too late then of course just ignore them.
