2019 Series 01

TRHL Owners,
Series 00 has been completed. League file attached.
Long term contracts signed thus far:
1. Pale Hose - Ronald Acuna
2. Annunaki - Pete Alonso3. Rotisserie - Xander Bogaerts
REMINDER - LTC signing deadline is now Monday, March 16th, 10 PM EDT.
Teams starting as *visitors* that have not posted season-start MPs: Canons, Heroes, and Terriers
WARNING - First half visiting teams have until Wednesday night, 10 PM EDT to post MPs and instructions. Failure to do so will result in a harsh e-mail from me asking you why the TRHL isn't your #1 priority in life. Then I'll let the stupid, imbecilic, moronic DMB computer manager generate an MP for you.
Results not submitted: N/A
(*) - Backup results submitted
(**) - Notified in advance
Automatic farmings due to overuse: None
Transactions:
1. Rogers sign Edgar Garcia, Elvis Luciano, Ronald Bolanos, and Huascar Ynoa2. Whitecaps sign Robel Garcia, Thairo Estrada, and Connor Sadzeck, release Kohl Stewart and Ryan Borucki3. Heroes sign Peter Fairbanks, Bryan Garcia4. Terriers sign Alex Jackson, release Ryan Weber5. Stogies sign Richie Martin and Chris Owings6. Chinook sign Nick Burdi, release Cionel Perez7. Breakers sign Ryan LaMarre8. Outlaws sign Trevor Rosenthal, release Erik Gonzalez
Injuries (> 3 days):
None
MPs *likely* ready for Series 01: Not going to assume. Reach out to
your opponent this week and communicate regarding all six games!
Again, rules of game play:
1. Do not play a series as the home team without first receiving a season start MP from the visiting team owner. Check the message board especially for posted MPs. After Series 01, please e-mail visiting owner if MP not listed as ready.
2. Always check the opposing team's rotation; pitchers should not start tired unless stated otherwise by manager.
3. Honor system here; do not restart games once they've started unless there is an obvious mistake discovered immediately upon starting (e.g., see #2 above, you accidentally let a tired pitcher start for opposing team)
4. You must have 25 or 26 active players at all time. No more. No fewer than 25.
Reminder - we are sticking to home-and-away six-game series each week against the same opponent.
Deadlines - 1st half deadline for first three games is Friday, March 13th, 10 PM EDT. 2nd half deadline is Monday, March 16th, 10 PM EDT.
Series 01 league file has been posted and the League File link on the website has been updated.

Thanks for playing.

Game 1: The McCallions come from behind as Brosseau hits a 2 run pinch hit homer in the bottom of the 8th inning, and Guerra closes it out, for a 6-5 win. Vogt gets knocked out for 12 games, as he ends up losing a collision at home plate in the bottom of the 7th with Vlad Jr. Devers hits a pair of homers for the NRI, including one on the first pitch of the game.
Game 2: The McCallions break open the game in the bottom of the fifth, scoring four. Brasseau again is the star for the McCallions, hitting a homer in the first, and a double which drove in two in the fifth. For the NRI, Laureano goes 3 for 4, with a homer, in a losing cause. McCallions win 5-2.
Game 3: The McCallions outlast the NRI 12-9 in an absolute slopfest, featuring 8 homers (5 for the NRI, 3 for the McCallions), with the key one being a fifth inning slam from Rowdy Tellez. To put it kindly, none of the pitchers had their good stuff today. In injury news, the NRI's Brandon Lowe left the game in the top of the 8th, after grounding out to short, and is expected to miss the next 43 games.
While the McCallions don't want the NRI to win any games, they do wish them better health in the second half of this series.

Not a good opening series for a Wagstaff team that has eyes on actually competing this year. Jaxx take 2 of 3.

BDM drop the home opener 4-0 as Zack Greinke twirls a 2 H, 10 K shutout, and Kershaw leaves early with a 5 game injury. Mattingly come back to take the next two 4-3 and 7-1. Nolan Arenado off to a blistering start with 3 HR in the last 2 games.
BDM rotation is Wheeler, Gallen, deGrom. Standard lineups.
Good luck!

Verlander retires the first 19 batters he faces on the way to his first win of the season, but the rest of the pitching looks every bit as dicey in action as it does on paper. 3 HR per game will cure a lot of pitching problems, though.
Should be ready for the 2nd half, Thornton, Verlander, Miley. Pitcher bats 8th, so drop the #9 hitter down after loading the lineups before each game.

Sisskiyou Rotisserie - March 13, 2020 03:22PM
|
|
|
Great start for the Rotisserie as we get the home sweep.
Game One was just about the perfect baseball game for me, and on opening day no less. 0-0 until the bottom of the 9th when my defensive first CF Victor Robles hits a solo for the walk off.
Game Two was tight for most of the game, but Rotisserie pulls away late to win it 6-2.
Game Three was real tight, with the game tied 2-2 by the top of the 4th. Rotisserie strings together a walk and two hits, with Bogearts getting the RBI, and our killer pen holds on. Nearly blew it in the 9th when I accidentally let Osuna pitch to Pederson leading off, and he crushes a double, but Hader comes in and bails me out.
MP ready for the second half. That "killer pen" is actually pretty shallow, so we may not be so fortunate going into the second half.

Pale Hose sweep at home ... Plukto (1-0) pitches a complete game as the Hose take the home opener 5-1. Vazquez homered to left in the bottom of 12th powering the Hose to a 4-3 victory. Gonzalez (2-0) did not pitch particularly well but still gets a win as the Hose bats show up strong in a 12-6 finale.

Breakers and Anunnaki split first two games and UCity leads the rubber match 4-1 heading into the top of the 8th, when all hell decides to break lose. Lindor hits a 3 run shot to put CBC up 6-4. Buxton answers with a grand slam in the bottom of the frame to give Ucity a 8-6 lead. Ryon Healy then jacks his own 3 run bomb to restore CBB's lead at 9-8. Anunnaki tie it and have sacks jammed for Buxton again, and again he comes through, slugging a walk-off slam for a 13-9 final.
Justin Upton hurt for the next 3 games for the Breakers.
UCity MP good to go for series 2.

Chinook rebound to get last 2 from Pirates
pdolwick - March 16, 2020 02:51PM
|
|
|
Tough start for the defending champs who lose the first 4 out of the gate in 2019.
G4: Bad managing. Left Nola in too long. Allows tying runs to get to plate and Yates blows the save. K. Seager hits GW HR in the 11th to give Pirates 6-5 comeback win.
G5: G. Cole homers, drives in 3, and goes 7 solid frames to pace the Chinook's first win of season. TBC 10-2.
G6: S. Gray pitches a gem, but game still in doubt until some late insurance from Kepler. TBC 5-2.
